Nature's Play: Piaget’s Lens on Childhood Development

Explores Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development in relation to spending time in nature, examining how children of different age groups interact with nature and the idea of “free play”. In a time dominated by digital stimulation, this challenges its impact on cognitive development, inviting viewers to consider the vital role of outdoor play. These vibrant, candid photographs document how today’s children connect with the natural world, offering a space for reflection on our relationship with the environment and its influence on well-being.

Somewhere I Am Not

This body of work is a personal exploration of depersonalisation disorder, framed through the surreal lens of Alice in Wonderland. Using self-portraiture as both subject and creator allowed me to embody the core sensation of depersonalisation, observing oneself from a distance, as if detached from reality. This dual role became a central method in conveying the fragmentation of self and identity. Inspired by the Victorian undertones of Alice in Wonderland, I manipulated the imagery to evoke a sense of aged theatricality, blurring time and place, to mirror the temporal and spatial confusion that often accompanies depersonalisation.
This project is rooted in introspection and emotional truth. The environments I created draw from imagination, infused with a sombre, lethargic mood, dramatising internal landscapes that are otherwise invisible. By visually weaving together fantasy, personal history, and psychological distortion, the work invites the viewer into a space where identity is uncertain, and reality feels just beyond reach.
 Where The Water Hides

The quiet yet visceral dimensions of emotional vulnerability, depression, and solitude are often experienced in isolation and rarely witnessed with honesty. Centred within the mundane space of a shower, these portraits dismantle the illusion of emotional privacy and invite the viewer into a moment of raw interiority. The bathroom, a place of supposed cleansing and renewal, becomes a stage for silent unravelling.
